Time is getting away from me!

Well, I had two New Year's resolutions: 1) to keep this blog more up-to-date and 2) to get myself healthier.  I kept #2, which I guess is the more important of the two... so here I am blogging almost 2 months later.

Life is such a whirlwind these days, but I am having such a good time and feeling better than ever.  The kids are so amazing, growing leaps and bounds both physically and mentally, so fast that I can hardly believe it.  Clara is definitely my talker.  She loves talking, singing, making any kind of noise with her mouth.  I will take any of that over crying for sure, and I love to hear some of the things that come out of her mouth.  It's amazing what they remember and pick up on, even when you don't think they are paying attention.

Nora has gone full speed ahead with eating.  Thank goodness!  With her being the littlest one at birth, I always wondered if she would always be the littlest.  She's not the tallest, but she's putting on some pounds and eating better than the other two.  Logan is pretty good with eating too, but Nora will just about try anything once.  Clara... she's a whole different story.  She's my tall and lanky kid.  Which, when she gets older will not be a bad thing for her.  But right now sometimes I wonder what keeps her alive.

Logan... well... he's definitely a boy!  Rowdy, rowdy, rowdy!  But that's ok, because that's what boys are supposed to do.  I think he also feels like he has to act out differently since he IS different than the other two.  I think he notices the girls dressing alike and getting the same gifts, etc. and maybe he feels a little left out sometimes.  But, enough people spoil him to make up for it, trust me!

Their 3rd birthday is one week from today.  I can't believe it. We are in the trenches of potty training right now too, let me tell you how fun that is... well, nevermind, I won't tell you because it's NOT fun. :-)

More to come...

A new year!

My #1 resolution for 2013 is to use this blog more!  There are so many wonderful things happening with the triplets right now and I hate that I am not documenting it for them to look at later on in life!

It's so hard to believe they are going to be 3 in just a couple of months.  I never thought it was possible for time to feel so fast and so long at the same time!  The kids just loved Christmas.  It was so neat this year, they actually understood what was going on.  Of course, they had about 4 days of opening presents so when it was finally over I don't think they understood why!  But they got lots of great stuff that they love and if I ever hear the words "I'm bored" come out of their mouths I might go crazy! :-)

Fall Fun!

We went to Eckert's Orchard in Grafton on Saturday and picked apples and let the kids play in the play area.  It was pretty fun!  Nora and Logan loved going down the big slide (1st video) and the kids loved the animals (2nd video).  On Friday night we also went on a hayride with people from Faith Fellowship, that was pretty fun too except for the rain!  You can see all of the photos here.

Special day for Jake

Sunday September 30th was a special day for our cousin Jake, he was dedicated at church! Afterwards we all went over to Aunt Megan and Uncle Dave's house for lunch.

Here we are with our cousins that were there.
Clara, Jake, Logan, Nora, Brianna, Tori and Nick

Weight/Height Check!

We went to the doctor on Saturday for a weight and height check since the kids are so dang skinny!  Here's the stats:

Clara
37" tall (75th %)
25 lbs (10th %)

Nora
36 1/2" tall (50-75th %)
26 3/4 lbs (25th %)

Logan
36" tall (50th %)
26 lbs (10th %)

So, we aren't doing too bad on height but we got to get some meat on Clara and Logan!  Doctor says they look great though and they are developing wonderfully.  He couldn't believe how far we'd come from being little 2-4 pounders in the NICU to how grown up they seem today!  I agree!

Bad news is that they are all sick, and have been for about a month.  After the first round of antibiotics it did not seem to have gone away so we took them back to the doctor.  They were put on a stronger (and much more expensive) antibiotic for 10 days but by the time we went in for our check-up on Saturday they hadn't gotten rid of it and/or had caught something else.  Lovely!  So, we are now doing another round of amoxicillan.  I'm putting a lot more into our flexible spending account next year!
